This walkthrough follows a SHEIN Free Trial request from start to finish on the US site: finding the Free Trial Center, sending a request, checking the result and handling the review once the item arrives. Following every step does not guarantee you will be picked, but it removes the mistakes that quietly knock people out.
- You need an active SHEIN account and must be at least 18.
- You can request up to 3 items per week; unused requests do not carry over.
- Ship-to address and SHEIN storefront have to match: a US site means a US address.
- If you are selected, plan to post a review with photos within about 10 days of delivery.
Step 1: Find the Free Trial Center
Sign in to your account. In the SHEIN app, the Free Trial area is usually reached from your profile, under the extra services section. On the website, look for the Free Trial Center among the community or services links. Menu names shift between app versions, so if you do not see it right away, searching for “free trial” inside the app usually brings it up.
Step 2: Send your requests
Step 3: Check the result
Processing takes about a week. According to SHEIN, results are posted in your trial area starting the second Tuesday after the request. Winners are notified by email and push alert too, and a $0 order is generated and sent without any extra step. A request that was not selected simply closes, and you can apply again the following week.
Step 4: Review the item
Wear or use the product before writing. SHEIN wants a candid, thorough write-up about how the piece looks, fits, feels and holds together, posted ideally no more than 10 days after it lands.
| Photo | What to show |
|---|---|
| Full body (required) | The item worn, facing the camera, in good light |
| Detail #1 (required) | Fabric, stitching or texture up close |
| Detail #2 (required) | Print, buttons, zipper or another feature |
| Styling shot (suggested) | How you paired it, or the part you like most |
Every photo must show you, not someone else, and minors may never appear. Meeting the guidelines is worth 20 SHEIN Points, and a “Quality Review” rating adds a 100-point bonus. Quality reviews mention both strengths and weaknesses, not just praise.
If something goes wrong
- The order has not arrived after 30 days: the US help center says to contact SHEIN Customer Service.
- The item is defective or damaged: report it to Customer Service as soon as possible.
- Customs holds the package or charges a duty: clearing it and paying the charge is the participant’s responsibility. If you decline, the item may be forfeited.
Easy-to-miss mistakes
- Guessing your sizeA wrong size makes the whole review harder, and it cannot be swapped.
- Using an out-of-country addressRequests tied to a different country than the site may not go through.
- Thin reviewsOne line and a blurry photo will not earn the quality bonus.
- Opening extra accountsDuplicate accounts can be banned from the program.
- Borrowed photosStock or other shoppers’ images get reviews removed and accounts flagged.
One more detail worth knowing: under the US terms, submitting a review gives SHEIN the right to use your photos and text. Read the program rules before posting if that matters to you.
